This series is an introduction to my floral portraits, a style I have been developing over the last couple of years. Inspired by the Victorian language of flowers and Victorian-style portraiture, I set out to create unique pieces that combine the two. Each flower has its own traits. Each floral portrait has its own story. I began by painting each month’s flower, hoping that collectors could pick the flower of their birth month and glean a little magic from its meaning. Or someone would find their favorite or that of a loved one and share it.
